Getting started with Sevens

The board gives you the information needed for the next action. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Keep the goal in mind before your next move. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Build familiarity through play

Read the position before choosing your next action. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.

The purpose of your moves

Take a moment to check the current turn. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

The playing sequence

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

Choosing and moving on screen

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

A closer look at one example

A careful first move helps you understand the round. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

Avoid this misunderstanding

Take a moment to check the current turn. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.
